2025 Ineos Grenadier Lifted with 17×8 Black Rhino ARX & 285/70R17 Tires

2025 Ineos Grenadier Wheel and Tire Setup

This 2025 Ineos Grenadier runs a square set of 17×8 Black Rhino ARX wheels in matte bronze with a matte black ring, paired with 285/70R17 tires at all four corners. The +32mm offset moves the wheel and tire package farther toward the fender line, giving the Grenadier a wider and more purposeful stance while keeping plenty of sidewall for off road use.

The truck is also equipped with a lifted suspension, adding to the already rugged proportions of the Grenadier. The combination keeps the wheel diameter at 17 inches while using the taller and wider tire to fill the arches, creating a capable look without moving to an unnecessarily oversized wheel.

Factory vs New Specs

A common factory 17 inch Grenadier setup uses 265/70R17 tires measuring approximately 31.6 inches tall. This build steps up to a 285/70R17 tire measuring approximately 32.7 inches in overall diameter.

Tire Height: The 285/70R17 is approximately 1.1 inches taller overall than a 265/70R17 factory tire.

Tire Width: Nominal tire width increases from 265mm to 285mm, adding 20mm of section width and giving the truck a broader footprint.

Ground Clearance: The increase in tire radius adds approximately half an inch of additional clearance beneath the axles before accounting for the additional height provided by the suspension lift.

Wheel Size: The Black Rhino ARX measures 17×8 with a +32mm offset. The 8 inch width provides a strong match for the 285 width tire while retaining the large amount of sidewall expected from an off road oriented Grenadier setup.

Offset: The +32mm wheel position moves the wheel noticeably farther outward than the high positive offset used on the factory Grenadier wheels. This brings the tire closer to the fender edge and creates a wider stance.

Black Rhino ARX Wheel Setup

The Black Rhino ARX uses cast aluminum construction and an off road focused design that fits naturally with the squared body and utilitarian character of the Ineos Grenadier. The matte bronze finish contrasts with the truck while the matte black outer ring keeps the overall appearance rugged rather than overly flashy.

The 17 inch diameter is also well suited to this application because it leaves considerably more tire sidewall than a larger diameter street oriented wheel. That additional sidewall is useful for rough pavement, trail driving and situations where tire pressures may be reduced off road.

Fitment and Stance

The combination of the wider 285 tire and lower +32mm wheel offset moves the tire considerably closer to the outside of the body than the factory configuration. The result is a more planted stance with the tires sitting near the fender line rather than deeply tucked underneath the truck.

The lifted suspension adds additional visual and functional clearance while maintaining the Grenadier’s off road proportions. The larger tire also fills more of the wheel opening, so the truck looks balanced even with the additional suspension height.

This is a relatively moderate tire increase rather than an extreme oversize setup, which helps retain the everyday usability of the Grenadier while giving the truck a noticeably stronger stance.

Fitment Notes

Rubbing: With the lifted suspension used on this build, the 285/70R17 tire has additional room during steering and suspension travel. Exact clearance can still vary by tire model, alignment and final suspension height, so full lock and compression clearance should always be checked during installation.

Trimming: Major trimming should not normally be necessary for a 285/70R17 setup. This tire size is also commonly used by Grenadier owners on factory suspension, although the +32mm aftermarket wheel position can change clearance compared with the original wheel.

Poke: The +32mm offset moves the package farther toward the outside of the vehicle than the factory wheel position, producing a wider and more aggressive stance without the extreme poke associated with zero or negative offset wheels.

Lift: This particular Grenadier is lifted, which provides additional wheel well clearance and contributes to the finished stance. A lift is not inherently required simply to run a 285/70R17 tire, but suspension height, wheel offset and intended off road use should all be considered together when determining final fitment.

Ride and Drivability

The 285/70R17 keeps a substantial amount of tire sidewall, helping maintain ride comfort over broken pavement and providing additional protection for the wheel during off road driving.

The tire is approximately 3.5 percent larger in diameter than a 265/70R17, so there can be a small change in effective gearing and indicated vehicle speed. The difference is moderate compared with much larger 34 or 35 inch tire conversions.

The wider tire and more outward wheel position also give the Grenadier a broader footprint. Steering feel may become slightly heavier compared with the factory configuration, but the setup retains sensible proportions for a vehicle designed around serious four wheel drive use.
