1969 Chevrolet C10 Lowered with 20×10 American Racing VF522 and 255/35R20 Tires

This 1969 C10 is a beautiful example of how to modernize a classic hauler without losing an ounce of its old-school attitude. Wrapped in a deep near-black finish with the factory CST/10 trim intact, the truck rides on a set of American Racing VF522 wheels in a bright polished finish, a two-piece forged design that mixes a forged center with a forged barrel. The staggered 20 inch fitment gives the truck real presence, running a 255/35/20 up front and a meatier 315/30/20 out back. Sitting on a lowered suspension setup, the C10 has that planted pro-touring stance where the tires fill the wells and the body hugs the ground. The polished spokes against the dark paint really pop, and the whole thing reads like a shop truck that spends as much time turning heads at cars and coffee as it does cruising the boulevard.

Factory vs New Specs
Going from a stock 1969 C10 to this setup is night and day. Original C10 trucks left the factory on tall 15 inch steel wheels with narrow bias-ply style rubber and a soft, upright ride height. This build swaps all of that for 20 inch forged wheels and low-profile performance tires, so the sidewall shrinks dramatically while the overall look grows. The staggered widths mean the rear now plants a 315 section tire where the factory ran something a fraction of that width, so the truck sits noticeably wider and more aggressive at all four corners. The lowered suspension drops ground clearance compared to the tall factory stance, which trades the old workhorse ride height for a cleaner, tucked-in profile. Combined with a more outboard wheel offset than the deep-dish factory steelies, the tires sit closer to the fender edge for that flush, filled-out look. Drivability changes too, the shorter sidewalls and wider footprint sharpen up steering response and give the truck a more connected, modern feel through corners than the original ever had.
